Understanding the "Schedule" and It's Features

The basic premise of the the Schedule is to provide a calendar of cross country "events", consisting primarily of meets. Central to understanding the Schedule is the color-coding strategy:

Color Event Category
White Non-Meet Event
Green Invitational
Yellow League Meet
Pink Championship Meet

Every row (line) in the Schedule has eight (8) possible column entries:

It is important to note that some columns are not relevent to a given event. For instance, there will be no entry for the Results column for the "First Day of Practice" event.

Another critical concept in using the Schedule is the notion of hypertext links. The Jobs, Results and Photos columns, if they have an entry, will have hypertext links. In order to use a hypertext link you need to place your mouse (pointing device) over the link text (typically blue, underlined text) and left-click. This will allow you to traverse the link and have the a new, related document displayed on the screen.

The Event, Location and Time columns may or may not contain hypertext links. If any of these columns contains blue, underlined text, you may exercise the additional information contained in the hypertext link - a new web page or a new document (such as a PDF file, for instance).

Hypertext links have the following meaning in the Event, Location and Time columns:

Column Hypertext Link Meaning
Event Information on the event itself, usually the web site for the event by the event sponsors
Location Directions from Campolindo High School to the event location
Time The schedule for the event, either as a document (i.e., a PDF file) or a web page with the schedule
